Yoshizaki Gobo Temple, Rennyo Shonin Memorial
(Awara City, Fukui Pref)

The 8th generation chief priest of the Hongan-ji temple, Rennyo Shonin, who is said to be the father of the Shinshu sect revival, escaped from Kyoto after being persecuted by the Hieizan sect and arrived at Yoshizaki. He opened "Yoshizaki Gobo Temple" for monks, which became his propagation base in Hokuriku later on, in this scenic stronghold land surrounded on three sides by Kitakata Lake. We can learn the world of the Jodo Shinshu of Buddhism in this memorial.

 

All-Japan Children's Kabuki Festival in Komatsu

Tojinbo
(Sakai City, Fukui Pref)

A rock pillar made of the columnar jointing (joint of columnar rocks in a pentagon or hexagon shape) of pyroxene andesite in Tojinbo is not only the only one of its kind in Japan, but there are known to be only two others like it in the entire world. It is appointed in the natural monument of the country and the natural beauty spot.

Nata-dera temple
(Kaga City, Ishikawa Pref)

Nata-dera is a temple of Koyasan Branch of Shingon Buddhism. It is said to have started in 717 when Priest Taicho enshrined a statue of the thousand-handed Kan'non. In the 14th century, this temple had come to ruin by civil wars. But Toshitsune Maeda, the 3rd lord of Kaga Clan, restored in 1640.
